About Anastasia

Anastasia is a neurodivergent licensed professional counselor (LPC) who has 10+ years of experience in the field and working with children. Anastasia is a native of Northern Virginia and recognizes the

difficulties that residing in such a fast-paced environment can create. Prior to joining private practice, Anastasia worked in various community-agency mental health settings. During that time, Anastasia learned the importance of tailoring therapy and resources through close collaboration between youth and their support systems. Anastasia uses an integrative holistic approach to be present with her clients on their journeys of growth.

Clients Anastasia Serves

Anastasia currently works with Pre-Teens & Adolescents, Young Adults and Adults. She provides individual and group therapy and is currently running a group for Autistic Young Adults. Anastasia’s clinical experience includes working with neurodivergence, trauma, anxiety, depression, and a wide variety of other mental health issues across all developmental stages. In addition, Anastasia offers parent support sessions, which provides parents with the space and resources to understand their child’s needs outside of the the therapeutic setting. Engaging in parent sessions helps strengthen and empower the family unit to function more positively.

Experience & Expertise

Anastasia uses a combination of talk, expressive, and play therapy techniques to integrate various counseling theories. Anastasia’s goal as a therapist is to help her clients find their voice, feel heard, and get their needs met. Anastasia’s passion is working with teens and young adults to encourage curiosity about their world and experiences, in a way that is safe, authentic, and sustainable. Anastasia strongly believes in the importance of the mind-body connection, which entails recognizing sensations created by emotions in the body and being able to connect them to

ongoing thoughts and/or behaviors. Once those connections are identified, clients are then able to achieve consistent growth and change in the way they communicate their experience of these situations. Being able to express one’s own needs effectively changes the way clients, their families, and support networks understand them.

Current Availability

Anastasia is currently seeing clients for in-person, virtual and group therapy, depending on the needs of the client. She is currently accepting clients who are able to attend daytime sessions between 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. She facilitates a 10-week group for Parents of Autistic Youth which provides families with education about what it means to be Autistic, using the NeuroBears curriculum, and a space to process how to apply this knowledge. A new round of this group will start in January 2024. Specific dates and times to be announced.
