Parent & Professional Consultations

Parent Consultations

The therapists at SCP are available for parent consultation sessions. Parenting is hard these days! Whether just navigating modern life or shifting everything one thought one knew about parenting to support a pressure sensitive nervous system, parents can always use more support. While a child’s therapist can often provide that support during a parent session, sometimes parents need their own person (and their child needs their parents to have their own person!) When this is the case, the other therapists at SCP are available to schedule parent consultations.

Consultations can be a one time session to discuss a concern or receive some psychoeducation about something like low demand parenting or they can be multiple sessions over time that is a combination of psychoeducation, parenting support, and individual support for parents. Parent consultation is not individual or couples therapy, but often the lines between these things are blurry. The therapists at SCP are trained to hold those lines, communicate when more than consultation is recommended, and work with the other providers in the family to ensure the whole family is receiving consistent and integrated support.

Professional Consultations

Therapists at Seven Corners Psychotherapy are some of the leading voices in the areas of understanding neurodivergence (especially Autism and ADHD) and working with pressure sensitive (or PDA) nervous systems. In addition to the trainings we provide through the SCP Training & Supervision Institute, we are available for professional consultation with other therapists and with other professionals in related fields such as OT, PT, speech therapy and education.

While Jennifer Glacel hosts a twice monthly consultation group on all things neurodiversity for those who have attended the Understanding Autism workshop, others are available for individual consultation sessions. Please reach out to the therapist directly if you are interested in scheduling!

She specializes in working with neurodivergent people and families, along with LGBTQ+ youth and adults. She enjoys this work personally and professionally, as it aids in the exploration, understanding, acceptance, respect, honoring, and supporting of the various needs and lived experiences of neurodivergent people.
