Supervision Frequently Asked Questions

Supervision is provided by Jennifer Glacel, LCSW, RPT-S and Sarah Harig, LPC, RPT-S. When you sign up for a training and supervision package you will receive access to a certain number of group sessions and monthly individual sessions for the duration of the package length.

Q. What are the APT Supervision requirements for RPT?

   A.

Q. May I request a specific supervisor?

   A. You may request a specific supervisor, but we cannot guarantee that you will meet your request. We will do our best given scheduling needs.

Q. What if I purchase one phase but have completed all of my group supervision hours already?

   A. It is possible to trade 3 group hours for 2 individual hours. So, if you purchase a package of just one phase, which includes 8 individual hours and 3 group hours, you may do 10 individual hours and 0 group hours instead.

Q. How frequently does supervision happen?

   A. Individual supervision will be approximately monthly, at a schedule determined by you and your supervisor. These can be either in person or virtual and will be a 50 minute hour. Group supervision will be monthly - in person at the time of in person trainings and virtually each month. This should allow for people to meet their supervision needs with the most flexibility.

Q. Will I have the same supervisor for individual and group?

   A. For the most part you will have the same supervisor for your individual hours. Groups are run by Jennifer and Sarah - potential jointly at times - and so you may have different individual and group supervisors.

Q. What happens if my supervisor and I are not a good fit?

   A. If you and your supervisor are not a good fit, it will be handled first within supervision and then, if needed, we will switch supervisors.

Q. How do you ensure that there are no more than 10 people in a group supervision session, per APT guidelines?

   A. People must sign up in advance for each group supervision session. If one fills, we will run a waiting list in case of cancellations.

Q. What happens if I sign up for a group supervision session, thereby taking a spot, and am unable to show up?

   A. If one cancels 24 hours in advance, there is no problem. The first time one no shows, there is a warning. A second no-show results in a $50 payment owed.

Q. What happens if only one person signs up for a group supervision session?

   A. The group will count as an individual supervision session in terms of APT requirements, but will count towards your group supervision hours per the SCPT&SI agreement.
